About Sherrie

I've worked as a professional writer since I became the night police reporter at the Daily Record in Morristown, New Jersey. From there, I moved to the Democrat and Chronicle in Rochester, New York, where I covered city government and won several awards for my feature and investigative stories.

After teaching writing at the college level, I worked as a staff writer for the public relations office at the State University of New York College at Cortland. I became a freelance writer in 2007 and have written for magazines and websites for universities, hospitals, nonprofit organizations and businsses across the country.

I'm the president of the Finger Lakes Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and a member of Business Networking International Ithaca Thumbs Up Chapter. I live with my husband and two daughters in Ithaca, New York, where I love to ski, play flute in a community orchestra, and walk my golden retriever.
